About Us
Doug Jenness is a founding member and the treasurer of the Arizona Field Ornithologists and leads field trips for the Tucson Audubon Society.
A native of Minnesota he has been interested in natural history since he was a boy and while a teenager worked summers as a nature counselor at a Boy Scout camp.
His “life-list” of birds includes over 800 different species and he has spotted over almost 400 different species in Arizona alone.
A life-long educator, Jenness is a seasoned guide with an outstanding knowledge of the back-roads and hidden by-ways of Southern Arizona and their fascinating natural inhabitants and wayfarers.
Along with his understanding of the locations and habits of birds, he has developed a broad-based appreciation for the animals, wildflowers, geology and general natural history of the areas where he birds and enjoys sharing these insights with his tour participants.
